Ahi Kānara Products - Shipping Policy

Ahi Kānara Products is committed to delivering your order with care, transparency, and integrity. This Shipping Policy explains how we process, package, and ship orders within Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Processing Times

1.1 Ready‑Made Products
Orders containing ready‑made items are processed and dispatched within 2–3 working days.


1.2 Custom‑Made Products
Handmade and custom items require additional time and will be dispatched within up to 2 weeks.

 

If your order contains both ready‑made and custom items, the entire order will ship together unless otherwise arranged.

2. Order Changes & Cancellations

To keep our process efficient:

  • Once an order has been processed, we cannot make changes.
  • Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled or altered.
  • Address changes must be requested immediately after purchase - we cannot guarantee changes once packing has begun.


This protects both the customer and the business from delays and errors.

3. Shipping Within New Zealand

3.1 Delivery Method
All NZ orders are shipped using NZ Post Overnight Courier, with:

  • tracking
  • signature required

 

3.2 Delivery Time
Estimated delivery time:

  • 1–3 working days (urban)
  • 2–5 working days (rural)


NZ Post may experience delays due to weather, peak season, or operational load. Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for courier delays once the parcel has been handed to NZ Post.

 

3.3 Free Shipping

  • Free shipping applies to NZ orders over $100.
  • Orders under $100 are charged at NZ Post’s current retail rates.


3.4 Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on:

  • parcel weight
  • parcel size
  • destination


We do not have a NZ Post business account, so all shipping charges follow NZ Post’s retail pricing.

4. Authority to Leave (ATL)

All parcels require a signature.

 

However, if NZ Post determines the delivery location is safe, they may:

  • leave the parcel in a secure area, or
  • leave a card to collect


If NZ Post leaves the parcel in a safe place, this is considered a completed delivery.


Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for parcels stolen or damaged after delivery.

5. International Shipping

We currently ship to:

  • Australia
  • United States
  • United Kingdom


5.1 Delivery Method
International orders are shipped using NZ Post International Economy Courier, which includes:

  • tracking
  • signature required


5.2 Estimated Delivery Times

  • Australia: 6–15 working days
  • United States: 10–25 working days
  • United Kingdom: 10–25 working days


These are estimates only and may vary due to customs, airline delays, or international courier networks.


5.3 Shipping Costs
Calculated at checkout based on:

  • parcel weight
  • destination
  • NZ Post retail rates


5.4 Customs, Duties & Import Taxes
International customers are responsible for:

  • customs fees
  • import taxes
  • duties
  • border charges


Ahi Kānara Products does not cover these costs.

6. Tracking & Delivery Updates

6.1 Tracking Numbers
Provided via email once your order has shipped.


6.2 Tracking Updates
Tracking may take 24–48 hours to update.
International tracking may show fewer scans.


6.3 Signature Required
All parcels require a signature unless NZ Post deems the location safe.

7. Lost, Delayed, or Missing Parcels

Once your parcel has been handed to NZ Post, delivery becomes their responsibility.
If your parcel is:

  • delayed
  • missing
  • not scanned
  • marked as delivered but not received


You must contact NZ Post directly to open an investigation.


Ahi Kānara Products can assist after NZ Post has opened a case, but we cannot:

  • refund
  • replace
  • resend


…until NZ Post completes their investigation.
Courier delays are not grounds for a refund.

8. Returned to Sender Parcels

If a parcel is returned to us due to:

  • incorrect address
  • non‑collection
  • unpaid customs fees
  • delivery refusal


…the customer is responsible for re‑shipping costs.
Shipping fees are non‑refundable.

9. Pre‑Order Items

If pre‑order items are offered:

  • dispatch dates will be clearly stated
  • delays may occur
  • pre‑orders may ship separately
  • pre‑orders cannot be cancelled due to courier delays

 

Courier delays are not grounds for a refund.

10. Peak Season, Weather & Holiday Delays

Delivery times may be longer during:

  • Christmas
  • Black Friday/Cyber Monday
  • public holidays
  • severe weather events
  • courier overload


Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for delays caused by NZ Post or international courier networks.

11. Packaging

All orders are packaged securely to protect your items during transit.


Fragile or custom items may receive additional protective packaging.
