Ahi Kānara Products creates handmade taonga with intention, aroha, and respect for our kaupapa. These Terms & Conditions help protect both you and our mahi. By purchasing from Ahi Kānara Products or using the website ahikanaraproducts.co.nz, you agree to the Terms & Conditions set out below.
Please read them carefully.
1. Definitions & Interpretation
“Ahi Kānara Products” means the business operating under this name.
“Customer” means any person purchasing or intending to purchase products from Ahi Kānara Products.
“Products” means all items sold by Ahi Kānara Products, including candles, resin items, rongoā‑inspired items, and digital content.
“Website” means ahikanaraproducts.co.nz.
“Order” means a purchase made through the website or directly with Ahi Kānara Products.
2. Eligibility to Purchase
2.1 Customers must be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian.
2.2 Customers must provide accurate and complete information when placing an order.
2.3 Ahi Kānara Products reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its discretion.
3. Pricing, Payments & Currency
3.1 All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
3.2 Prices may change at any time without notice.
3.3 Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase.
3.4 Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for bank fees, currency conversion fees, or declined payments.
3.5 If a pricing error occurs, Ahi Kānara Products may cancel the order and issue a refund.
4. Order Processing & Acceptance
4.1 An order is considered accepted once payment is received and a confirmation email is sent.
4.2 Ahi Kānara Products may cancel an order if stock is unavailable, payment fails, or suspicious activity is detected.
4.3 If an order is cancelled, the customer will be notified and refunded
5. Product Descriptions & Handmade Variations
5.1 All products are handmade, and natural variations in colour, texture, shape, and finish are expected.
5.2 Product photos are examples only; each item is unique.
5.3 Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for differences caused by screen settings or lighting.
5.4 Handmade imperfections are not considered faults.
6. Refunds, Returns & Dispute Resolution
6.1 Due to the handmade nature of products, Ahi Kānara Products does not offer refunds for change of mind.
6.2 If a product arrives damaged, customers must contact Ahi Kānara Products within 48 hours with photos.
6.3 Ahi Kānara Products will assess each case and may offer a replacement or refund where appropriate.
6.4 Disputes will be handled in good faith and in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
8. Candle Safety, Use & Liability
8.1 Customers must follow all safety instructions provided with candles.
8.2 Ahi Kānara Products is not liable for damage caused by misuse, including:
- leaving candles unattended
- burning near flammable items
- burning for longer than recommended
- using candles around children or pets
8.3 Customers accept full responsibility for safe candle use.
9. Shipping, Delivery & Courier Delays
9.1 Shipping timeframes are estimates only.
9.2 Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for courier delays, lost parcels, or tracking issues.
9.3 Once a parcel is handed to the courier, responsibility transfers to the customer.
9.4 Incorrect addresses provided by the customer are the customer’s responsibility.
10. International Shipping, Customs & Returned Parcels
10.1 International shipping times vary and may be affected by customs and foreign postal services.
10.2 Customers are responsible for all customs fees, import taxes, and duties.
10.3 Ahi Kānara Products is not liable for customs delays, seizures, or destruction.
10.4 If a parcel is returned due to unpaid customs fees, refusal, incorrect address, or failure to collect, the customer may request resending.
10.5 A restocking fee and new shipping cost will apply.
10.6 If the customer does not wish to resend, a refund will be issued minus:
- restocking fee
- original shipping cost
- any return shipping charges
10.7 Replacements or refunds for lost parcels will only occur if the courier confirms the parcel is lost.
11. Intellectual Property & Copying Designs
11.1 All designs, resin patterns, candle styles, rongoā blends, product names, labels, photos, videos, and written content are the property of Ahi Kānara Products.
11.2 Customers may not copy, reproduce, imitate, or recreate any Ahi Kānara Products designs.
11.3 Unauthorised use is a breach of the Copyright Act 1994 and Fair-Trading Act 1986.
11.4 Ahi Kānara Products may pursue legal action for any misuse of intellectual property.
12. Rongoā, Wellbeing & Understanding Our Kaupapa
12.1 Ahi Kānara Products creates rongoā‑inspired taonga with intention and wairua.
12.2 These products are not medical treatments and do not diagnose, cure, or prevent any condition.
12.3 Effects may vary for each person.
12.4 Customers should seek medical advice when needed.
12.5 Ahi Kānara Products is not responsible for misunderstandings about the purpose of rongoā‑inspired products.
13. Limitation of Liability
13.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ahi Kānara Products is not liable for:
- indirect or consequential loss
- emotional distress
- business losses
- misuse of products
- delays outside its control
13.2 Liability is limited to the value of the product purchased.
14. Privacy & Data Protection
14.1 Ahi Kānara Products collects customer information for order processing only.
14.2 Information is stored securely and not shared with third parties except for shipping purposes.
14.3 Customers may request access to their information at any time under the Privacy Act 2020.
15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
